Visitor and conference chairs
These chairs are for people sitting for an hour, not eight, which changes what matters. Footprint, weight and how they look in a row count for more than adjustment.
Buy for the room, not the person
Measure the space behind the chairs before choosing. A metre of clearance behind each seat is what lets people leave a meeting without everyone standing. That constraint decides the chair more often than comfort does.
Cantilever, four-leg or stacking
Cantilever frames have a little give and look more considered in a boardroom. Four-leg chairs are lighter and easier to move. If the room changes use regularly, stacking chairs will save you more space than anything else here.
How many to buy
Count the seats the table takes, then add two rather than six. Spare visitor chairs end up stacked in corridors, and rooms are more often over-chaired than under-chaired.
If the room doubles as a training space, stacking chairs for the overflow are a better answer than permanently crowding the table.
