Fabric executive chairs
Fabric gives you the proportions of an executive chair without the heat of leather, and it tends to suit modern offices where the seating is meant to blend rather than announce itself.
Where fabric wins
It stays closer to room temperature, absorbs a little sound, and hides light wear far better than leather. It is also usually cheaper to reupholster than to replace, which matters over a ten-year life.
Choosing a fabric
Check the rub count if the chair will be used daily, and be realistic about cleaning. Pale fabrics in client-facing rooms look excellent for about a year. If the room gets warm, mesh is worth considering instead.
Sizing a high back properly
An executive back should support the shoulder blades, not stop below them or push the head forward. Sit in one before ordering several: backs that suit a 6ft user often push a shorter one out of position, and the fix is a different chair rather than an adjustment.
If the chair will be used at a desk all day rather than for meetings, compare it honestly against a task chair before committing.
